Melody Adventures gives the foundation for Creative Piano Skills by encouraging melody-reading and an understanding of chords I, II, IV & V. An overall goal of this series is to encourage a practical understanding of harmony that progresses concurrently with technical, interpretive and sight-reading skills. These books can be used in conjunction with Keyboard Accompaniment BASICS. KEYBOARD ACCOMPANIMENT BASICS and THE KEYBOARD ACCOMPANIMENT ELEMENTS give a solid foundation for improvisation and playing by ear. By continually providing your own chord progressions, bass patterns, fills & endings, the ability to create your ‘own’ accompaniment gradually becomes instinctive.
